A popular cabin at Girl Scout Camp Little Cloud in Epworth has undergone renovations – thanks to a grant.
The Dubuque Racing Association has provided $20,000 in funds to transform Shagbark, a multi-purpose building with overnight accommodations and a large living space with a kitchen for events. Additional overnight space is now available, a wood-burning fireplace has been repaired and updated to ensure safety, and there is new LED lighting in the exterior and interior of the building.
The Dubuque Racing Association has funded multiple renovations of cabins at Camp Little Cloud. Mandy Miller, Manager of Strategic Philanthropy at DRA, says the renovation of the Shagbark building aligns with the goal of enhancing community spaces and creating opportunities for both local families and visitors to experience the beauty of the outdoors while fostering personal growth.
Camp Little Cloud also welcomes the community to reserve the property for overnights and events. Community members can learn more and make a reservation at RusticIowaVenues.com.
