Edgewood Preparing for RAGBRAI

Edgewood is preparing for RAGBRAI’s arrival this summer.
The community has been chosen as one of the pass-through towns on this year’s route – and Chamber Director Elise Bergan says they couldn’t be more thrilled.
RAGBRAI will be passing through Edgewood on Saturday, July 26th.
Edgewood’s RAGBRAI theme will be “It’s a Buckin’ Good Time” – paying tribute to the long-standing Edgewood Pro-Rodeo Days celebration that the small community of 900 is known for hosting each year. But Bergan says they only have a short time to leave a lasting impression on riders and visitors.
Edgewood will be hosting a RAGBRAI planning meeting tonight at 6 pm at the Edgewood Community Room, with vendors, entertainers and community groups welcome to attend.
But she says they’ll need lots of volunteers to help pull off this event – so if you’d like to help, reach out to the Edgewood Chamber at 928-7036 or email director@edgewoodchamber.com.
It’s been 11 years since RAGBRAI came through Edgewood – in 2014 – and Bergan says they’re excited to welcome them back.
After an overnight stop in Oelwein on Friday night, July 25th, RAGBRAI will be passing through Stanley, Aurora, Lamont, Dundee, Edgewood and Garber on Saturday, July 26th before making its final stop in Guttenberg – where riders will dip their bike tires in the Mississippi River to wrap up their week-long ride across the state.
