Great Give Day Today

Today is Great Give Day – it’s a 24-hour online fundraising event hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque to support local non-profit organizations.

More than two hundred non-profits from northeast Iowa are participating this year. Tanya Burnett says twenty-two of those organizations have endowments with the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County.

Amanda Diers is the executive director of the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County. She says today – Great Give Day – is a great way to show your support for the non-profits in our local communities.

And there is a new event being held later today to celebrate Great Give Day. Sarah Maurer with the Delaware County Cattlemen says they’re opening up the Steer ‘n Stein at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester so you can stop by and learn more about some of the local non-profits participating in today’s Great Give Day.

Maurer says they’ll also be serving food and drinks, with ice cream and live music too.

Tonight’s Great Give Day event at the Steer ‘n Stein runs from 4 to 6 pm – everyone is welcome. And if you’d like to make a donation or follow the leaderboard throughout the day today, go online to GreatGiveDay.org.
