Worthington Man Wins $250,000 Lottery Prize

A Worthington man has won $250,000 in the lottery.
Paul Engler won the prize playing the “Payline” scratch game. The $20 game features eight top prizes of $250,000.
Engler bought the winning “Payline” ticket at Casey’s in Epworth. He discovered he won after scratching the ticket in his car outside a store where his wife and son were shopping.
“I made the mistake of saying, ‘Hey, you better get out here, I think I’m having a heart attack,’” Paul Engler recalled of the phone call to his wife. “She literally thought I was having a heart attack and I said, ‘No, I’m not having a heart attack! Just come out, it’s a good thing!’”
He claimed his prize Monday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids.
Engler said he will use his winnings to help his kids pay for college. He also wants to treat them to a family vacation.
