Delaware Community Celebrating Honor with Picnic in the Park

The City of Delaware is inviting the community to celebrate with them later today.

Delaware is the proud recipient of the 2025 Donald F. Lamberti Hometown Pride Vision Award. City clerk Erin Learn explains:

Lorin Ditzler and Andy Frantz of Keep Iowa Beautiful will be in town to present the award and recognize Delaware’s commitment to enhancing quality of life through community pride and improvement. Over the past year, the community has converted the Delaware City Park. Park committee member Tanya Burnett:

Burnett says it’s been exciting for the Delaware community to see the positive changes being made.

And more improvements are coming.

Tonight’s Picnic in the Park will take place at the Delaware City Park from 4 to 6 pm, with the award presentation at 4:45 pm. Judy’s Food Trailer will be on site and Roast and Toast treats will be provided by ECIA Hometown Pride. Bring your lawn chairs. Everyone is welcome to help the community celebrate.
