Open House for New Cabins & Campground at Pinicon Ridge Park

Linn County Conservation is hosting an open house on Saturday for the new Coneflower and Ridgewood Cabins and Firefly Campground at Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City.
Dennis Goemaat, Executive Director of Linn County Conservation, says they’re excited to offer a brand new campground as interest in camping continues to grow. “The new cabins present another accommodation option for families to experience nature firsthand during park visits,” said Goemaat.
These modern, wood-framed, all-season cabins can accommodate 10 to 12 guests. Cabin features include four bedrooms (including a bedroom with two bunk beds), bathrooms with showers, full size kitchen, a recreation room, a walkout basement, patio, grill, and fire pit at $250 a night (two-night minimum or three-night minimum on holiday weekends) or $1,500 for a week-long stay. Firefly Campground is the only online reservation campground at Pinicon Ridge Park, offering 32 campsites with full hook-ups (water, electricity, and sewer) at $40 a night (two-night minimum). A new showerhouse and playground is also on site for campers.
Reservations and information about facility rentals can be found by visiting the Facility Rentals page at LinnCountyIowa.gov/Conservation.
Saturday’s open house will run from 1 to 3 pm. To see the cabins and campground during the open house, visitors should enter the Pinicon Ridge Park north access (off Highway 13 at 4948 Valley Farm Road) and follow appropriate signage to Firefly Road. Cabin open house visitors are encouraged to park at a designated parking area at the new Firefly Campground. Park staff will provide shuttle services, or visitors may enjoy a short walk to the cabins.
