Fireworks to be Allowed in Manchester on July 3rd and 4th

Manchester residents will be able to set off fireworks this Fourth of July.

Currently, the City of Manchester does not allow fireworks to be set off at any time of the year. But at Monday night’s meeting, the Manchester City Council approved amending the Code of Ordinances to amend provisions pertaining to fireworks. It brings the City’s Code in line with the passage of Senate File 303, allowing fireworks to be discharged in the community on July 3rd and 4th, as well as December 31st.

The Council waived the first and second reading and proceeded with approving the third reading on Monday night.

City Manager Tim Vick says you do not need a permit for consumer fireworks on the dates allowed. However, if you are discharging fireworks for a public display or event, a permit is required.

The new law goes into effect July 1st.
