Lansing Bridge Re-opens to Traffic

The Mississippi River bridge from Lansing into Wisconsin re-opened Monday morning.
It’s been closed for the past three weeks after movement was detected. The DOT’s Clayton Burke says it’s believed construction on the new bridge created the problem.
Burke says the engineering review gave the go-ahead to open the bridge back up to traffic.
He says they will continue the shuttle ferry service across the river if there is still enough interest, even though the bridge is back open. Burke says they will need to close the bridge again early next month.
Burke says construction on the new bridge is moving ahead.
The new bridge won’t be completed until the end of 2026.
