Strawberry Days Celebrating 55 Years

Pork Tornadoes Headlining Friday Night Entertainment

Strawberry Point is holding their 55th Annual Strawberry Days festival this weekend.

Chamber board member Tracie Cumberland says they’re excited to welcome in The Pork Tornadoes for a concert on Friday night.

Strawberry Days kicks off tonight at Inger Park with live music by Gypsy from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The Farmers Market and community meal hosted by Point Vision runs from 5 to 7 pm, with the Strawberry Dessert Competition beginning at 6 pm.

Saturday’s schedule begins with the Backbone Bluegrass Breakfast from 7 to 11 am at the Civic Center, along with the 5K Run/Walk at 8 am. The Strawberry Days parade starts at noon, followed by the carnival from 1 to 7 pm. And Cumberland says they’ll be holding a ribbon cutting for the community’s newly-renovated strawberry that overlooks the downtown area.

Sunday’s events include the Truck, Tractor and Semi Pull at Campbell Park. Organizer Nikki Maker says the pull will get underway at 11 am.

Maker says Strawberry Days is always a good time.

Eric Walker will be broadcasting from Strawberry Days from 1 to 3 pm Saturday on KMCH – look for him in the KMCH vehicle in the parade too. And if you’d like more information about this weekend’s events, check out the Strawberry Days Festival Facebook page.
