Strawberry Point Rededicates its Beloved Symbol

Another successful Strawberry Days is now in the books, as the 55th Annual celebration was well attended by the community. Among the activities was the rededication of the giant Strawberry in front of the City Hall. Mayor Hannah Evans said they’ve known a little rehab on the symbol of the community for a while now.

City Administrator Dino Andrews discussed the process.

Along with a ribbon cutting ceremony after the parade, the city conducted an online contest.

Following the ceremony, the ball field was filled with fun…with a volleyball tournament, live music, inflatables and food. As the festival wound down with the tractor, truck and semi pull on Sunday, families can look forward to another staple of summer, the return of the community swimming pool. Earlier this year, the council voted to close down the pool. But Mayor Evans said the community showed their support.

Our thanks to the community for allowing us to share in the celebration.
