Winthrop Days 2025 Celebrates The Friendliest Town for Miles Around

The Community of Winthrop celebrated being the friendliest town for miles around with another successful Winthrop Days over the weekend. Organized by the Winthrop C & C Club, the event featured plenty of food, live music, games and family friendly activities. Among the notable events, the dedication of a newly constructed pavilion in the park and the recognition of the 2025 Person of the Year. This year’s honoree was Jim Peterson. Jim has called Winthrop his home for most of his life

Peterson was surprised to hear of the honor, but he is proud to tell of the good reasons why he and his wife returned so many years ago to the community.

A new addition to the community debuted during the festival…the newly constructed Hall of Fame inside the Winthrop HIstorical Center. Director Missy Cook explains.

The Winthrop Historical Center is inside the former Peoples Savings Bank in downtown Winthrop. Cook explains that its the bank’s history they are working to restore now.

And our thanks to the community and the Winthrop C & C Club for allowing us to be a part of the celebration.
