LemonAID Showdown in Anamosa on Saturday

A LemonAID Showdown is taking place in Anamosa on Saturday.

It’s Boondocks versus Lubben Winery in a friendly lemonade stand competition to see who can raise the most money for Jones Regional Medical Center.  Boondocks Emporium owner LeeAnna Boone says it’s all to support brain cancer awareness and local care.

In their first showdown last year, they raised over $10,000 – and that was with only ten days of planning. This time around, they’ve been planning for months – and Boone says they’re packing Saturday full of lemonade, auctions and some fun activities at both Boondocks and Lubben Winery.

And there are several other activities going on Saturday in Anamosa as the rest of the community supports the cause.

All of the proceeds raised at the LemonAID Showdown will go to the Jones Regional Medical Center.

Saturday’s LemonAID Showdown between Boondocks and Lubben Winery starts at 11 am and will run through the evening.

Jon Swisher will be broadcasting from the event from noon to 2 on KMCH.
