Dangerous Heat Continues, Slight Risk for Severe Storms

Dangerous heat will continue today and may continue through Wednesday.
A Heat Advisory remains in effect through this evening. The National Weather Service says peak afternoon heat indices between 100 to 105 degrees expected.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
The National Weather Service says strong to severe storms are also possible late this afternoon and evening. The Storm Prediction Center has placed eastern Iowa under a Slight Risk Level 2 out of 5, with damaging wind and heavy rainfall the main risks. The timing for the storms would be from 4 to 10 pm tonight.
Forecasters say periodic storm chances are possible for much of the week, which may bring relief to the heat for some areas.
