Manchester City Council Meeting Recap

The Manchester City Council met Monday night, further discussing a potential change to residents’ water and sewer bills. City Manager Tim Vick says the City is proposing a seven-percent rate increase for water base and sewer base rates.
The City Council approved the second reading of the ordinance on Monday night – a third reading will need to be approved before the change becomes official.
The Council also approved an agreement with the Iowa DOT for a Transportation Alternatives Program Project for the Grand Avenue Trail Extension Project.
The Manchester City Council also chose to table the City’s Annual Salary Resolution. The Annual Salary Resolution sets the wages for employees for the July 1st start of the 2025-2026 Fiscal Year. The Council will meet next week to discuss the salaries.
And due to a change in state law, fireworks will be allowed to be discharged in Manchester on July 3rd and 4th (during certain hours). But Vick encourages residents to keep a couple things in mind.
