Lightning Strike at Delaware County Fairgrounds Damages Four Vehicles

Lightning damaged four vehicles at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester on Friday afternoon.

The Manchester Fire Department says they were called shortly before 1:30 pm to the fairgrounds’ north parking lot just north of the Beef Barn.

Fire Chief Randy Rattenborg says lightning struck a tree and then transferred to four vehicles, which all have mechanical issues. He says a couple of the vehicles could possibly be totaled.

The names of who the vehicles belonged to were not available.

No injuries were reported.
