Extreme Heat and Humidity Return This Week

The heat and humidity return this week.

The National Weather Service says heat and humidity will increase Tuesday through Thursday, with temperatures reaching around 90 and peak heat indices of 95 to 105 (or higher).

An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued from noon Tuesday through Thursday evening for Delaware, Dubuque, Buchanan, Jones and Linn counties, with the hottest days expected Tuesday through Thursday.

Thunderstorms are possible on Thursday – that could impact the forecasted high temperatures and heat indices.

During this extreme heat stretch, the National Weather Service encourages everyone to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities and check on kids, elderly and those with heat sensitivities.
