Overnight Storms Cause Downed Trees and Power Lines Throughout the Area

Strong thunderstorms swept through the state overnight, causing much damage to trees and downed power lines in the KMCH listening area. The storms arrived into our area around 1:30 this morning, taking about 2 hours to push completely through the area. Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator Mandy Bieber says Weather spotters and emergency responders watched the intensity of the storm.
Those winds caused several trees to be blown down.
Portions of Manchester were without power, too.
Cleanup is already underway. Bieber urges residents to be safe, and let Delaware County Emergency Management know about your home and property damage.
More showers and thunderstorms are expected for today and tomorrow…with a noticeable change in temperatures still anticipated into the first weekend of August.
