DNR Issues Air Quality Alert for Iowa

The Iowa DNR has issued an Air Quality Alert for all of Iowa.
Moderate to heavy smoke from Canadian wildfires is impacting most of Iowa over the next couple days at levels considered unhealthy for sensitive groups – and it’s unhealthy even for healthy people. Sensitive groups include people with respiratory illness or heart disease, as well as children, teenagers, the elderly, and outdoor workers.
The DNR recommends that people avoid long or intense outdoor activities and take frequent breaks until the air quality improves.
The Air Quality Alert is in effect through midnight Friday night.
