Dundee Driver Charged after Fayette County Crash

A Dundee driver was charged following a crash in Fayette County early Wednesday.

Shortly after midnight, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call of an accident near the 14000 block of Highway 18. Through interviews and investigation, authorities found that the car was traveling westbound when its tire blew and came off the vehicle. The car continued westbound on its rim until it came to rest at a driveway in the 14000 block of Highway 18.

The Sheriff’s Office says when making contact with the driver, 23-year old Tiffany Kelly of Dundee, they observed multiple alcoholic containers and Kelly showed signs of intoxication.

Kelly was transported to Palmer Hospital in West Union with minimal injuries.

After the investigation, Kelly was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated, Interference with Official Acts and No Insurance.

The Sheriff’s Office also found multiple feet of fencing wrapped around the car, indicating that the car had gone through a fence somewhere. If you notice damage to your fence, please contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 563-422-6067.

West Union Police, Fayette Police, Gunderson Ambulance Service and West Union Fire Department assisted the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
