Authorities have released the name of the semi driver who was killed in an accident in Dubuque County on Monday night.
The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says 26-year old Jayesth Paul of Canada was driving his semi on Highway 61 southbound just north of the Buncombe Road intersection when he pulled over to the side of the road to check and secure his load.
A southbound SUV driven by 27-year old Kaylynn Knight of Maquoketa struck the back of the semi-trailer and Paul, who was outside the semi.
Paul was pronounced dead at the scene.
Knight was evaluated at a local hospital and released.
The Highway 61 southbound lanes between Skyline Road and Buncombe Road were closed until about 9 pm Monday night.
