Manchester Preparing for West Marion Street Bridge Project

Manchester is preparing to work on the West Marion Street Bridge in a few years.
On Monday night, the City Council approved an engineering agreement with Kirkham Michael & Associates for the bridge design and rehabilitation project. City Manager Tim Vick says the challenge is that the timing of this project will also coincide with the downtown’s reconstruction of South Franklin Street.
The West Marion Street Bridge project is scheduled for the 2028 construction season. Vick says the bridge will be closed only during the construction season itself – about five to six months, weather dependent.
