KMCH SPORTS: Week 0 for High School Football tonight
Scrimmages set for coverage area teams

BY JON SWISHER – SPORTS DIRECTOR:
Week zero of the High School Football season takes place tonight around the state with seven games scheduled. Scrimmages will take place for most of the KMCH Sports coverage area, including in Manchester at Brown Field where West Delaware will welcome in Western Dubuque for the Silver Bowl. The Hawks and Bobcats played in regular season non-district action the last two years. Second-year Hawks head coach Ryan King knows the Bobcats will be a good first test before the season starts for real next Friday night:
Sports Director Jon Swisher will host the annual West Delaware Fall Sports Preview Show starting at 5:45pm here on Mix 94.7, kmch.com and the KMCH App. The scrimmages will begin with the Freshmen and Sophomore teams at 5:30 with the introductions of the cross country, volleyball, football and football cheerleader squads before the varsity begins scrimmaging around 6:45.
Elsewhere in the coverage area:
Maquoketa Valley hosts Monticello
Independence will be in Waverly taking on Waverly-Shell Rock and Waterloo West
North Linn entertains Lisbon
Cascade heads to West Liberty
