U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley made a stop in Buchanan County on Tuesday afternoon.
The longtime Republican senator visited the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence. Grassley’s office says topics of discussion included the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Medicare, Medicaid, rural hospital funding, 340B and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).
They also discussed the hospital’s new inpatient building, which provides larger rooms and industry leading technology.
Tuesday’s visit to Buchanan County was part of Senator Grassley’s Annual 99 County Tour across the state.
