Good Turnout for Delaware County’s “Dream It, Do It” Kickoff

There was a good turnout at the “Dream It, Do It” kickoff in Manchester on Wednesday night.
It’s an initiative started by Delaware County Economic Development and the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County, with hopes to create a culture in Delaware County that makes it easier for small businesses to get their start with a good support system.
Several dozen aspiring business owners – and those who currently own one – gathered to hear advice from local business owners.
Shelly Schrader owns three businesses in Manchester – Thompson Shoes, Olive That Deli and Green Acre Toys. She was one of those business owners to share a few words of wisdom.
Kirk Burkle, manager and part-owner of Boubin Tire in Manchester, was invited to speak about his experience of taking over an established business three years ago. Burkle says it was exciting to see the turnout for Wednesday night’s “Dream It, Do It” kickoff.
Danielle Thurn is the owner of Blooms in Edgewood. She opened her business in 2013 and shared with the crowd about how she got started and what she’s learned along the way.
Amanda Diers, executive director of the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County, says she and the board are excited to support this “Dream It, Do It” initiative.
