The Hero Hustle will be celebrating its 10th anniversary on Sunday.
This annual event is a fundraiser for our local heroes – including fire departments, EMTs and law enforcement.
The duathlon/triathlon features a 400-yard swim, a 16-mile bike ride and a 5K run. Athletes can compete individually or as part of a team.
A total of 206 participants have signed up for this year’s Hero Hustle – that includes seventeen teams. The youngest participant this year is nine years old (in the team triathlon), with the oldest participant 74 years old (in the individual triathlon). Participants will be coming from 68 cities, 35 counties and five states, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Florida.
The registration deadline has passed, but spectators are more than encouraged to come out and cheer on the participants. The Hero Hustle starts at 9 am Sunday at Schram Park in Manchester.
