Manchester Revising Baum Park Shelter Renovations

Baum Park in Manchester will be seeing renovations – but probably not until next year.

The park shelter was damaged in the 2023 tornado and then torn down, with the City hoping to replace it – and update the bathrooms at the park too. City Manager Tim Vick:

Only one bid came in for the project – $80,000 higher than the City’s budgeted amount – so the Manchester City Council rejected the quote. The City plans to come up with an alternative project scope – perhaps with a smaller shelter design – and go out for bids again later.

Construction on the Baum Park shelter project likely won’t happen until next spring.
