West Delaware PPEL Vote Today

Voters in the West Delaware School District are heading to the polls today to vote on the PPEL, otherwise known as the district’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy.
The voter-approved levy has been in place for decades – and it must be renewed every ten years. It provides the district with funds that can only be used for infrastructure and equipment repairs, purchases, and improvements.
Superintendent Jen Vance:
The levy generated more than $510,000 worth of revenue in the recent fiscal year for the district. These funds have been used in the past to upgrade heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, repair roofs, purchase buses and vans, replace computers and hardware, maintain athletic facilities, purchase musical instruments and equipment, and install new signage, among other needs.
West Delaware CCSD’s current voted PPEL has a rate of $0.67 per $1,000 of taxable property value. This proposed measure seeks permission to maintain that same rate through 2036, meaning a renewed levy will not raise property taxes. The district’s cumulative property tax rate for Fiscal Year 2026 is $13.67 per $1,000 of taxable property value, which ranks fourth lowest in the WaMaC Conference.
Voted PPEL measures require voter approval of at least 50 percent.
Polls are open until 8 pm tonight.
