Walk 4 Tomorrow in Manchester Bringing Awareness to Suicide

The Delaware County Suicide Prevention Coalition is hosting its 3rd annual free suicide awareness walk called Walk 4 Tomorrow on Saturday.

Coalition member Colleen Jennings says the event is meant to raise awareness, support survivors of suicide loss, and to let those with suicidal thoughts know they are not alone.

Walk 4 Tomorrow will take place Saturday at Tirrill Park in Manchester from 9 to 11 am, with registration starting at 8 am. After checking in, attendees will have the opportunity to pin a photo of a loved one who has died by suicide or been affected by suicide. The event will kick off with a speaker, a blessing and then the walk. This year’s speaker is Andrea Willey of Wyatt’s Warriors, who lost her 17-year old son in 2022.

There will also be resource tables set up on the grounds so people can get more information about local services.

If you’d like to participate in Walk 4 Tomorrow, there is no need to register ahead of time – just show up the morning of and sign-up at the registration table. And registration is free.

And if you are wanting to volunteer for Walk 4 Tomorrow, you are more than welcome too – just show up at 7:30 am to help set-up.

Participants at Saturday’s Walk 4 Tomorrow at Tirrill Park are encouraged to show up wearing team shirts – or teal or purple – in support of the cause.
