The New Vienna/Luxemburg Fire Department is celebrating a big milestone this weekend.
It’s their 75th anniversary, with a celebration planned on Saturday. Fire Chief Mark “Sparky” Lukan says they got their start as a combined department back in 1950.
You’re invited to help the New Vienna/Luxemburg Fire Department celebrate their 75th anniversary on Saturday at the fire station in New Vienna. They’ll kick it off with an open house at 4 pm and aircare landing at 4:30 pm.
A parade – with fire department-themed floats – will start at 6 pm in New Vienna. Lukan says a lot of their past members enjoy coming back and visiting the department – and you’ll be seeing some of them in Saturday’s parade.
The New Vienna/Luxemburg Fire Department has 29 members, with more joining as three others have just started the EMT classes. Lukan says he really appreciates the firefighters’ dedication and the support they receive.
Saturday’s New Vienna/Luxemburg Fire Department’s 75th Anniversary Celebration also includes food trucks, drinks and live music from 7 to 10 pm. Everyone is welcome.
