Boy Scouts & Cub Scouts Begin Popcorn Sales

The area Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will start selling popcorn on Saturday, September 20th.

This is a fundraiser for the Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops to raise money to support their activities, such as camping, uniforms, outdoor gear, leadership training, awards such as merit badges, and high adventure programs and trips. Some of the money from popcorn sales goes back to the area council and helps them pay for maintaining Camp Klaus near Colesburg. And another percentage of the money is used to help each boy pay for summer camp. Every container purchased helps build confidence, character, and lifelong skills.

All of the regular favorite items are available again this year, including yellow popping corn, microwave buttered popcorn, microwave kettle corn, cheddar cheese, jalapeno cheese, Sea Salt Splash, Peanut Butter Cup, Mud Puddles, the two caramel corns with sea salt in the ISU and Iowa tins, Classic Trio, chocolate lovers, and cheese lovers. There is a new flavor this year called Mountain Munch, which is a classic caramel corn mixed with pecans, cashews, and almonds all drizzled in chocolate. You can also make military donations in $10 and $20 increments. The price for most items is $20-$25 and many include a decorative collector’s tin.

In-person orders will be taken through October 13th. If you are interested in purchasing popcorn and don’t have a specific scout who you know, please reach out to Sara Breckenfelder (563-920-8534) in Manchester and she can assist you with placing an order.
