Castle Theatre Celebrating Anniversary with Drive-In Movie

Castle Theatre is switching things up this weekend to celebrate their 15th anniversary.
Rather than showing a movie as they usually do on their big screen at the theater in downtown Manchester, they’re bringing the movie experience to the Delaware County Fairgrounds for a drive-in movie event.
Kristy Davis was hired as the manager of Castle Theatre a few years after it re-opened.
While the theater itself has been around for decades, the 15th anniversary celebrates when local citizens saved the historic theater from closing and re-opened it in 2009. It’s been a labor of love for the volunteers and board who have kept it running ever since.
The Friends of Castle Theatre are hosting the anniversary celebration with a free drive-in movie on Saturday night, showing the movie “The Greatest Showman”.
Manchester native and 1997 West Delaware grad Cathy Parrott served as the Assistant Costume Designer for the film.
They’ll start the movie at dusk.
Parrott says she’s looking forward to returning to Manchester to attend the drive-in movie event too.
Everyone is welcome to come out for the free showing of “The Greatest Showman” on Saturday night, with the gates opening at 6:15 pm. Free popcorn will be provided.
