West Delaware Celebrating Homecoming

It’s Homecoming week for West Delaware!

The hallways have been decorated all week, with students dressing up in different themes, including Y2K and Adam Sandler.

Today’s events include the K-12 Pep Rally on Brown Field at 12:30 pm. The West Delaware Homecoming Parade starts at 2 pm, taking its usual route through Manchester (map pictured below).

Kris Lenz has been named as this year’s Grand Marshal. The 2000 West Delaware King and Queen, Tim Woods and Angie Rave Peyton, will be honored as the 25 Year Homecoming Royalty, along with last year’s Homecoming King and Queen, Brent Yonkovic and Trudy Loecke. They’ll be recognized during the parade, as well as after the freshman football game around 6:30 pm – along with this year’s Homecoming and Honor Courts.

The Homecoming Court was selected by the senior class. This year’s West Delaware Homecoming Court includes: Alaina Bardgett, Jack Cantwell, Jack Georgen, Lauren LeClere, Ben Palas, Lena Petlon, Norah Peyton, Austin Schnieders, Grace Sleper and Ethan Timmerman (pictured above).

And West Delaware seniors who have been selected by the West Delaware High School staff to be on this year’s West Delaware Honor Court include: Isabelle Demmer, Madie Deutmeyer, Keaton Emerson, Sophia Hegland, Bridget Heideman, Blake Mather, Trent Menard, Erin Mensen, Reagan Reeder, Kinnick Weis and Lucas Zeiser (pictured below).

This year’s West Delaware Homecoming King and Queen will be announced between tonight’s freshmen and varsity football games. West Delaware will take on the Charles City Comets, with the freshmen game tonight beginning at 5 pm and varsity at 7:30 pm.

Homecoming week will wrap up Saturday night with the Homecoming Dance from 8 to 11 pm in the West Delaware High School Commons.
