Starmont Bond Referendum on Tuesday’s Ballot

Starmont voters are being asked to consider a bond referendum in Tuesday’s election.

Superintendent Rob Busch explains:

The old building – the high school section – was built in 1964. And the newer section – the elementary and middle school – was built in 1992.

This is the first time Starmont is presenting the bond referendum for a vote.

The district has hosted several public meetings and work sessions so Starmont voters could learn more about the bond referendum and proposed project, with some questions about the need for air conditioning.

Busch says the Starmont School District has one of the lowest tax rates in the area – and he notes it would remain one of the lowest even if the bond referendum passes.

A 60-percent plus one supermajority is needed for approval. You can find more information about the Starmont bond referendum online at starmontbond.org.
