Reminders for Tuesday’s City & School Elections

It’s Election Day! Local residents are voting on city and school board races today.

There are twenty-nine contested city races in the KMCH coverage area today, along with eight contested school board races.  

Three of those contested city races are in Manchester. In the race for Mayor, incumbent Connie Behnken is being challenged by council member Joe Dittrick. In the race for City Council Ward 2, incumbent Mary Ann Poynor is being challenged by Curt Meiner. And in the race for City Council At-Large, incumbent Linda Schmitt is being challenged by Diane Hammell.

The polls will be open today from 7 am to 8 pm. Delaware County Auditor Carla Becker says voter turnout for City and School Elections can vary between 5 to 25-percent depending on the jurisdiction. Voter turnout in the last Manchester city council election was 28-percent, while the last Manchester mayoral race – which also included contested city council and school board races – was nearly 31-percent.

Becker says they are using General Election Precincts for this election – which means that Delaware County residents will vote in the same place they voted during last November’s Presidential Election.

All of Delhi Township and all that part of Oneida Township lying within the Delaware city limits 

Vote @ St. John’s Parish Hall in Delhi

Honey Creek/Elk Precinct

All of Honey Creek Township and all of Elk Township

Vote @ St Mark’s Parish Center in Edgewood

Manchester 1st Ward 

Vote @ Manchester Fire Station

Manchester 2nd Ward 

Vote @ Delaware County Community Center

Manchester 3rd Ward

Vote @ Seibert Park Memorial Hall

Milo/Prairie Precinct

All of Milo Township EXCEPT that part lying within the Manchester city limits; all of Prairie Township
