At Least One Injured in Collision Near Delaware

Authorities say at least one person was injured in a collision northwest of Delaware last Friday.

The accident report was released on Tuesday by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, who says the crash happened around 5 pm on Old Highway 20 just west of 220th Avenue.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, a westbound pickup driven by 68-year old Jan Keck of Greeley slowed down to turn into a driveway when it was rear-ended by a car. Keck’s pickup came to rest near the driveway on the south side of the road, while the car came to rest just past the driveway on the north side of the highway.

Keck suffered minor injuries and was transported to Regional Medical Center. The driver of the car, 19-year old Cooper Mesch of Delhi, declined medical transport, but was taken by a private vehicle to RMC to be checked for possible injuries.

The Iowa State Patrol assisted at the accident scene.
