Manchester Methodist Church Collecting Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child

A Manchester church is once again serving as a drop-off site for Operation Christmas Child.
Operation Christmas Child provides shoeboxes full of small gifts to children in need across the world.
That’s Stephanie Stocks, who volunteers her time with the program. Manchester Methodist Church has been participating in Operation Christmas Child for the past two decades, serving as a drop-off site for the past 15 years.
And anyone can fill a shoebox, using one you already have at home.
You can find more information on how to pack a shoebox at samaritanspurse.org/occ. The shoeboxes can be dropped off now through Monday at the Methodist Church, with the drop-off hours varying each day. You can find the list of times under this story on kmch.com.
The church will host its own packing party on Saturday in their community room starting at 9 am – and everyone is welcome to join them.
Monetary donations to send the shoeboxes are welcome too. Stocks says they’ve also appreciated the support of local businesses, with Honey Creek Furniture offering the use of their truck to transport the shoeboxes to Waterloo.
Operation Christmas Child is a small way to make a big impact in the life of a child somewhere in the world.
Since 1993, over 232 million shoeboxes have been delivered to children in need in more than one hundred countries.
