Marge was born on May 22, 1939, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Gilbert and Margaret (Schilt) Steiner. She graduated from Monticello High School and later married Courtland “Chip” Chapman on August 18, 1959, in Monticello. The couple lived and worked in the Monticello and Tipton areas before settling in Manchester in 1971, where they raised their four sons. Chip began working at Bud’s Super Value Grocery Store, and Marge
served as a bookkeeper there for many years, retiring in 2010. A devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, Marge enjoyed playing cards and going out to dinner with her friends. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marge is survived by her sons, Mark (Jolene) Chapman, Gary (Jane Moriarity) Chapman and Dean (Lori  Jacobson) Chapman, all of Manchester and Carl Chapman of Waterloo, Iowa, grandchildren, Elisha, Aaron, Kaci, Zach, and Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Parker, Gannon, Jase, Stella, Kaine, Asher, Carter Kate; and her sister, Linda Burns of Monticello.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Margaret Steiner; husband, Chip Chapman; and her brother Roland Steiner.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for those at Regional Medical Center who helped Marge at a difficult time. Your kindness and generosity was greatly appreciated by her family.
