Elected Officials Lunch with Community Members in Annual Event

Lawmakers and community members gathered for a light lunch and conversation on Tuesday as the annual Elected Officials Luncheon took place at Pin Oak. A joint event from the Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce, Delaware County Economic Development and the Manchester Rotary, the annual event provides an opportunity for those in elected positions to discuss the coming projects and plans for the year.

Among those in attendance this year was Steve Buesing, entering into his third term on the West Delaware School Board. Currently the board is in the beginning stages of crafting a new strategic plan.

That plan requires a fiscally responsible path.

Delaware County Supervisor Dan Wheeler spoke on the ongoing construction project on the courthouse grounds.

Delaware County Sheriff Travis Hemeseth attended the luncheon, too. The county’s drone was a topic of discussion, with Travis noting a surprise benefit to the equipment.

Nearly 40 people attended this year’s event, generally held on the Tuesday before the Thanksgiving holiday.
