The Manchester City Council has approved the contract and performance bonds for the Manchester Municipal Airport’s Runway Rehabilitation Project.
The City says the rehab project involves resurfacing the airport runway and installing four-inch edge drainage tiles. River City Paving was the successful bidder for the project at just over $508,000.
The project is largely funded by federal grants, as the City of Manchester was awarded funds from the FAA to cover 95-percent of the total cost.
The City Council’s approval on Monday night was a split vote of 3 to 2, with council members Linda Schmitt and Bryan Gray voting against it.
The Council’s approval officially authorizes the start of the work under the executed contract and bonds.
