Grassley Speaks to KMCH Prior to Calling Senate to Order

The U.S. Senate returned from recess following the Thanksgiving holiday on Monday.

Prior to calling the Senate to order, President Pro Tempore and U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley spoke to KMCH News Director Janelle Tucker – one of two Iowa reporters asked to participate in this week’s Capitol Hill Report. 

Senator Grassley says they continue to pray for the two National Guard members who were tragically shot last week in the nation’s capital.

Grassley says he’s working on several priorities in the final weeks of 2025, including getting prescription drug prices down by bringing pharmacy benefit managers into the open.

Senator Grassley says he does not see any issues with getting the National Defense Authorization Act passed after several Democratic lawmakers appeared in a video stating that military members can refuse unlawful orders.

Grassley’s staff was in Manchester last Tuesday, holding office hours at the Delaware County Courthouse. If you missed it, he says you can still get help anytime through their district offices.
