Monticello will be celebrating the holidays on Saturday evening.
It’s “Holiday on 1st” from 4 to 7 pm. Monticello Parks and Rec Director Jacob Oswald says it takes the entire Monticello community to come together to make this event happen.
Holiday on 1st started in 2020 with Santa in the City’s Pocket Park – and has grown since then.
This year will feature a holiday meal, Elf Village and live music at the Renaissance Center and gingerbread houses and Elf lanterns at the library. On 1st Street, they’ll have Selfies with Santa, live nativity, Mexican hot chocolate, carriage rides, trackless train rides, Elf games and a puppy meet and greet.
Kara Burrack with Monticello Parks and Rec say they’ve also got a couple new additions this year.
The Christmas Star Lighting wraps up the event in Monticello on Saturday night at 7:10 pm on the corner of 1st and Main. You can find the complete schedule of events and activities on the Monticello Holiday on 1st Facebook page.
