Operation Santa Claus has wrapped up for another year.
The local program provides Christmas gifts to children of families in Delaware County who need an extra hand financially during the holidays. Volunteer Kathy Swift says they were able to help well over one hundred families this year, with the annual gift giving day held the first Saturday in December.
Fellow volunteer Tammy Eibey says it’s heartwarming to see the joy from the families and the support from the community.
Swift says she had a touching conversation with a few families who have used Operation Santa Claus in the past.
Volunteer Jane Murphy says even though Operation Santa Claus has ended for the year, they’re looking forward to next year – so help is always appreciated.
