One Injured in Rollover South of Central City

One person was injured in a vehicle rollover south of Central City on Monday morning.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says their deputies, along with Iowa State Patrol, Central City Fire Department and Center Point Ambulance, were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident with injuries on Highway 13 and Burnett Station Road around 6:15 am.

Upon arriving, first responders discovered a SUV with heavy damage in the east ditch of Highway 13. Authorities say an investigation found that the SUV lost control on the icy roadway as it was heading northbound on Highway 13 and rolled as it entered the east ditch.

The driver, 66-year old Spencer Nelson of Marion, suffered minor injuries and was transported by Center Point Ambulance to a local hospital.
