North Linn Names Next Superintendent

North Linn has named their next superintendent.

The school district announced on Wednesday that Brendan Schott will fill the role beginning next school year.

Schott is currently the principal at North Linn Elementary. He has also become a fixture in the community through his years of service as an educator, and he brings extensive experience implementing programs to close student learning gaps and fostering mentorship programs between secondary and elementary school students.

Schott has received community service program recognition from the North Linn Community School District for creating a service learning course for the district, as well as veterans appreciation honors for his role in orchestrating an annual Veterans Day assembly at North Linn High School. He’s also an active member of School Administrators of Iowa and has engaged with the organization’s workshop to sharpen his educational leadership skills.

Lisa Glenn is currently serving as the Interim Superintendent, succeeding Dave Hoeger. North Linn board members worked with Grundmeyer Leader Services to conduct the superintendent search. Schott’s contract is pending approval at the January 21st school board meeting. He will officially begin leading the North Linn School District on July 1st.

Schott says he is truly honored to be selected as North Linn’s next superintendent. He says the district is grounded in strong core values – growth, accountability, leadership and community – and his goal is to ensure these values are not just words on a poster, but are reflected in North Linn’s decisions and daily practices.
