Blizzard Conditions to Impact Eastern Iowa

A blizzard is expected to impact portions of eastern Iowa later this afternoon into tonight.
The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for Delaware, Buchanan, Jones and Linn counties from 2 pm to midnight.
Confidence has increased in the intensity of the cold front that will move through later this afternoon into early evening. Near and just behind this front will be some robust snow showers adding up to an inch of accumulation – but even more impactful will be the wind speeds themselves, gusting to 45 to 60 mph. This will lead to blowing and drifting snow, reduced visibilities and white-out conditions. The NWS says travel should only be in the case of an emergency.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for Dubuque, Clayton and Fayette counties.
