Delaware County’s Unemployment Rate Rose in December

Delaware County’s unemployment rate rose in December.
The latest county numbers from Iowa Workforce Development on Tuesday show an unemployment rate of three-point-two percent for Delaware County – up from two and a half percent in November and up from two-point-seven percent a year ago.
Most of the surrounding counties also saw an increase in unemployment from November to December, with Buchanan County at three-point-three percent, Fayette at three-point-six, Clayton at four-point-five, Dubuque at three-point-four and Jones at four percent.
Linn County’s unemployment rate dropped slightly in December to three-point-four percent.
Several counties in Iowa had rates at just over two percent, while the highest unemployment rate in Iowa was Marshall County at just over seven percent.
Iowa’s unemployment rate for December was three-point-five, while the U.S. unemployment rate was four-point-four percent.
