Retired Clayton County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Raven Passes Away

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of their retired K-9.

K-9 Raven died Monday. She began her career with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office at one year old in 2014, serving as a dual-purpose K-9. During her service, Raven completed more than 200 deployments and was instrumental in over 100 arrests. The Sheriff’s Office says she was also a familiar and beloved presence at numerous demonstrations for Clayton County community organizations and schools, helping build trust and strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.

Raven earned several awards throughout her career, including 1st Place Team at the USPCA Detector Trials in 2018, 1st Place Vehicle Search at the USPCA Detector Trials in 2021, and “Sniff-Off Champion” at the Iowa Dogs for Law Enforcement Seminar in 2019.

Raven retired in 2022 and spent her retirement with her handler, Matt Moser, and his family.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office says K-9 Raven will be deeply missed by her family, former coworkers, and the Clayton County community she served so faithfully.
