Fayette County Woman Arrested for Leaving Child Home Alone

A Fayette County woman has been arrested for leaving a child home alone.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says on Thursday, they received a report of a 7-year old child being left home alone after 9 pm all night in Hawkeye. While patrolling the area, a deputy observed a vehicle leaving the address at 9:30 pm and it was verified that a child was left home alone.
During the investigation process, the Sheriff’s Office found that 44-year old Kari Lynn Youngblut of Hawkeye had left a 7-year old child home alone all night while traveling to work for eight- to ten-hour periods. Authorities say it was found she had done this on numerous occasions since last summer.
Youngblut was arrested and charged with ten counts of Child Endangerment.
The Sheriff’s Office says the child is safe at this time.
The case is ongoing and there could be more pending charges.
