KMCH SPORTS: WD Hawks Boys Wrestling team headed back to State Dual Tournament

For the 9th year in a row and 16th time in program history the West Delaware Boys Wrestling team earned a trip to the State Dual Tournament, held at the Xtream Arena in Coralville this Saturday. After Williamsburg took down West Liberty 44-27, the Hawks defeated the Raiders 51-16.
In other Class 2A action-
Independence edged Wilton 35-33 at home.
Anamosa pulled an upset in their semifinal, beating North Fayette-Valley 32-28 before falling to Decorah 60-7.
In Class 1A-
North Linn lost to South Central Calhoun 51-29.
In 3A-
Western Dubuque was defeated by Bettendorf 56-14.
First round pairings for West Delaware and Independence will be released later today from the Iowa High School Athletic Association.
In basketball from last night-
GIRLS-
Independence fell to Mount Vernon 55-42.
Maquoketa Valley thumped Midland 71-29.
North Linn roughed up East Buchanan 62-32.
Beckman Catholic lost to Bellevue 53-45.
Cascade topped Anamosa 49-40.
Monticello was taken down by #1 Maquoketa 68-42.
BOYS-
Maquoketa Valley hammered Midland 75-25.
Ed-Co over Starmont 64-56.
North Linn held on over East Buchanan 39-36.
Cascade controlled Anamosa 58-34.
Beckman Catholic was edged by Bellevue 53-52.
Monticello topped Maquoketa 69-55.
Western Dubuque was beaten by Iowa City West 60-54.
