Fire Destroys Farm Building in Dubuque County

Fire destroyed a farm building north of Farley early Sunday.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says firefighters and emergency crews responded to 27249 Dyersville East Road for a report of a structure fire around 1 am. A farm building, owned by Dennis and Kathleen Soppe, was found to be fully engulfed.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire to the building. The building and its contents are considered to be a total loss, with an estimated value of $100,000.

No one was injured. The cause of the fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Farley Fire and EMS, Dyersville Fire Department, and Holy Cross Fire Department.
